Cristiano Ronaldo added another two goals to extend his lead as Champions League top scorer as Real Madrid lost 3-2 on the night to Galatasaray in Turkey, but nevertheless progressed to the semi-final.
Real Madrid were in an extremely comfortable position after winning the first leg last week by 3-0 at the Bernabeu and when Cristiano Ronaldo side-footed home in the 7th minute, Galatasaray would need to win by five goals to one to go through.
Despite a seemingly insurmountable lead, Real Madrid were not completely secure. Galatasaray got a goal back through a screaming effort by Eboue in the 57th minute and when Sneijder slotted home in the 70th minute to put them 2-1 ahead, belief began to come back.
Didier Drogba then scored a phenomenal flick in the 72nd minute which left the Turkish side only needing two goals.
All hope was extinguished when Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 11th goal of the Champions League this season in injury time after Ozil's clever pass.
Real Madrid are now through to the Champions League semi-final (5-3 on aggregate) and will be joined so far by German side Borussia Dortmund who dramatically beat Malaga 3-2.
